Life on a turbo
For Len, more miles on the turbo this last week than I have ridden in ages, nice and warm in the living room. At long last this is the start of the training desparately needed for the track league. I might soon even feel fit enough for a road ride and not get dropped with the slow group, or is that an age thing.

Tired legs....and its only day 3!!!!
The launch ride was great...although it was a challenge to keep up with Nathan, Jack & Dominic, who were cycling like they were trying to win a stage of the Tour De France!!! All good I suppose and great for my fitness levels. The other 3 groups all tackled their routes and we met up for a food stop at lunch time. The look on people's faces as the Orange army took over Cafe Cargo was priceless.......we had arrived, and we were on our way to a very successful launch!!
My living room now looks like a cycle shed, Nathans bike on the rollers and mine on the turbo, wheels on the floor and chain oil on the carpet!!!!! It seems that there is competition building up in our household over who will do the most miles this week, Nathan and myself both managed 40 minutes on our trainers on day 2, whilst Kevin and Shannon were happy to watch us and pass on the offer of taking our places after we were done....boooo!!!
Tonight I was on my own....so what better than football on the TV and another hour on the trainer, although on dismounting the bike I can feel my legs getting weaker and the clicking in my left knee is telling me to slow things down......maybe a rest tomorrow and let the other 3 do their part!!! the kids are not liking my total so far....I can sense the competition in the Hawthorn house heating up......over to you Shannon & Nath

Welsh Family - Day 1 or is it 2?

"That was fun Daddy, can we do it again next weekend?" said Evan and Caitlin at bedtime last night. Our family ride yesterday was brilliant and shows in fine style the strength of Cycle Sport Pendle.
Our ride started from Seedhill running track just after 10am and took us along the canal towpath to Cafe Cargo at Foulridge. We joined the little ones and the less ambitious, whilst the braver and bigger took alternative and more challenging routes.
Seeing the might of the Orange Army take over the Cafe was a sight to behold. I'm sure the manager was equally impressed, or at least he might be today after looking at his takings, he looked a little stressed at the height of action however. Apparently someone had the audacity to order poached eggs on brown toast ... how dare they!
Our family mileage with 4 x 13miles ended up as 52 miles (the benefit of working for a bank is you get used to sums!) Adding this to the estimated cumulative total from the other 44 rider should give us well over 1000 miles towards our 25000 mile target.
A huge well done to all. Lets do it again. Where to next week?
